Is Weight Loss Fast Possible?

By Kevino Ronaldinho

A liquid diet is nothing new; people take these types of diets all the time in the hospital. They do them mostly after people have undergone surgery or if they have a medical condition that does not allow them to eat solid foods such as an ulcer in the mouth or an inability to swallow.

It may be used in other ways too for example for weight loss. Before you take it upon yourself to go a whole week without eating solid food first do some analysis about the kinds of liquid diets available and then consult your doctor to find out which may be the best option for you. There will be benefits and disadvantages to each diet and side effects to some. There may also be interactions with medications or you would be on medications that would not be able to facilitate such diets so it is really essential to talk to your doctor first.

These kinds of diets are mainly for people who wish to see a fast weight loss as well as those who are trying to get rid of toxins in their bodies. If you're only slightly overweight a liquid weight loss diet might not be for you as they are better suited for people who are obese. Your doctor will let you know where your body image falls.

A person who has a BMI that exceeds 30 is considered obese. These people are more likely to benefit from these programs than those who only need to lose a small amount of weight so if you are looking for a little bit of weight loss a liquid diet may not be for you. Once again why it is important to see your doctor first?

There are two basic kinds of these diets, extended cleansing and strict liquid diets. Strict liquid diets include the consumption of strained juices, gelatin, broth, popsicles and water as well as tea. Extended cleaning diets allow you to eat supplements which will carry high calories as well as protein. There is also an allowance of low fat ice-cream, unprocessed non-fat goats milk and organic maple syrup. These are added to these extended diets because you will need nutrients for your body.

Don't only rely on water. Though water is great for the body and for losing weight you cannot survive on water alone. (Well you can but not if it is unnecessary Just ensure you do not embark on a liquid diet for too long as this can lead to heart problems. You can do a diet where you replace 1 or 2 meals with liquids, this way your intake of calories will be less but you will still keep your regular pattern of consumption.

This type of diet is lacking in fiber and if you do not supplement with it you will find that you'll end up with constipation. You may find supplements in the tablet form as well as the powdered form which could be sprinkled into your liquids when you're ready to consume them.

On this type of diet you'll find that when you lose the weight it may be hard to take it off. So in order to keep the weight off you will have to start engaging in exercise to get your body into shape so you will not need to do much dieting again.
