Reasons To Try A Low Carb Diet And Low Carb Recipes

Both the low carb diet and low carb recipes can assist individuals with a wide variety of medical ailments. Both cut down on the consumption of foods exceptionally rich in carbohydrates. Instead these are replaced with foods with elevated levels of fats and proteins. Larger quantities of foods with reduced carb content are also consumed. Consequently, several people experience benefits.

On this diet foods especially high in sources of digestible carbohydrates are limited or eliminated. These would include breads and pastas. In contrast, one study has linked the diet to obesity, but the connection is unclear.

A more convincing study has been completed on the effects of longevity. The source of information was gathered from one hundred thousand people over the time frame of two decades eating fewer carbs. Results indicated that the diet can be helpful, but that lifespan was most influenced by protein and fat sources. Eating foods with protein and oils from plants results in an increased lifespan. If fats and proteins are instead gathered from animal sources, lifespan decreases.

An example of a main dish recipe is pheasant sauteed with shallots and cream. Its ingredients include a pheasant, butter, cream, canola oil, flour, shallots, salt and pepper, and artificial sweetener. There are no breads or pasta in the meal. The poultry provides protein and the oils, butter, and cream provide fat. Unfortunately most proteins and fats are derived from animals, with the exception of the canola oil. Therefore the recipe is less healthy than others.

A healthier dish is the chicken roulade. This is a chicken breast stuffed with chicken, mushrooms and brandy. It is superior because it includes spinach, mushrooms and chicken for its proteins. This adds multiple vegetable source proteins. Additionally, olive oil is called for to cook shallots and garlic, a source of plant oil.

Such a diet helps with many medical conditions. It helps those struggling with weight and obesity, abnormal insulin levels, and seizure disorders. It can also improve energy levels and health of those with polycystic ovarian syndrome. But its ultimate impact on longevity depends on where fats and proteins are derived. From animal sources, lifespan is reduced. In contrast, if fats and oils come from plant sources, individuals on this plan will live longer and healthier lives.
