How to Stay Skinny

By Laurence Martis

Never shop when you're hungry! Hunger makes the blood sugar levels low, naturally you will crave for sugary foods. Even if you have strong willpower, if you go to a supermarket in a hungry state, sweets will always be in your basket.

So when you shop, we suggest you fill in your tummy first and have a list ready so as not to get you distracted.

Have Breakfast! Are you always busy in the morning, never finding time to eat a healthy breakfast? Breakfast, which really means to "break the fast" is the most important meal of the whole day. By forgetting breakfast, you are starving your body and letting it hold onto the body fats until it can. By eating breakfast every morning after a 30 minute walk, you will enhance metabolism and burn larger amounts of fat for the day.

Make sure to prepare the food the night before and set your alarm 20 minutes earlier than usual for the morning.

Do not ban the foods you love! When I first started out as a wellness practitioner, I told my clients to quit on all the things they love like sweets and alcohol. What I quickly found out is that banning them just make them hungry for more. Instead of banning them, instill positive encouragements like eat vegetables with every meal. This was a wonderful idea as when they eat vegetables, fiber will make the stomach full, making them forget eating sweets altogether.

Do not forget to eat fat! You are going to need good fats in order to get rid of the bad. It is very advisable for the body to have steady supply of good fats. Good fats are the ones that make your hormones happy. The best sources of vitamins A, D and E are found in good fats such as butter and animals. Contrary to conventional beliefs, saturated fats does not lead to heart disease.

Limit your carbohydrates to vegetables and occasional pies and increase protein and good fats intake. This will make you burn more fats at a quick rate that will keep you maintained in a healthy weight.
