Lose Fat Not Muscle

By David Bellentin

A lot of people confuse wanting to lose fat with looking to slim down. The following important information will advise you why your body stores fat and consequently how to get your body to lose fat so you can look your best. Certainly, as with all endeavors, consult your doctor to make certain the following tips will work well for your body. Everyone is distinct and all this words do is attempt to put a collection of resources together to help you achieve maximum fat reduction.

If you slim down your body actually becomes unhealthy as you lose muscle mass, bone density and experience other possible signs of malnutrition. If you examine the health of the populations of 3rd world countries you will find that the majority of the impoverished are in reality very slim and weak as opposed to being lean and strong. This happens because they've flattened their calorie intake below what their body requires to survive in a healthy way.

It is an extreme type of the old weight loss strategy of diminished calories in-increased calories out-these people are dieting to the extreme. The only difference is that they are not doing it by choice and therefore, they don't binge if they get sick and tired of not eating.

Most of us can simply enter into our car and go to a fast food restaurant whenever we feel the overwhelming compulsion to destroy the diet for the day and commence over tomorrow. This is a message from your body when it senses starvation-it tells you to go find food! This is very simple for us and therefore we listen to the message-do you want fries with that?

In sharp contrast, when you lose fat but maintain or even improve muscle and bone mass you will have a healthy, toned, and impressive body. This is what most people actually want when they say they would like to lose weight. Because these are two different goals they require two different courses of action. You can'ttake the same approach to work everyday and expect to end up somewhere different one day.
