What Bothers Bridesmaids

By Mondo Humboldt

Being a bride can be a wonderful and enchanting experience. Some women have been planning their weddings long before they even meet their groom. Getting every single detail to portray the image in the bride's head can be frustrating and next to impossible. When things don't go as expected, it brings out the Bridezilla in most brides. If you think that Bridezillas are scary, just think about how terrifying a whole group of uncomfortable and angry bridesmaids would be! This can be more or less likely depending on what bridesmaid dress the bride has selected for her girls. The selection can be the difference between a line of beautiful, happy, supportive bridesmaids in her corner and an obviously uncomfortable and irritated line of girls ready to turn into an angry mob at any moment.

There are a number of things a bride should think about when selecting dresses for bridesmaids. Before forcing all of her bridesmaids into the same dress, a bride should take a look at her line and pay close attention to all of their different sizes, shapes, and skin tones. Certain colors and cuts do not look good on everyone! The bride should always let her bridesmaids make any necessary alterations to their dresses and never expect her line to look completely uniform. Sometimes adding certain accessories like a sash, belt, or shawl can be just what some ladies need to pull off the look the bride has picked for them. Other times the bridesmaid dress needs to be a little longer for some, while others prefer the same dress a little shorter.

A bride should be careful of the price tag that comes along with the bridesmaid dress she chooses. A quick way to create a line full of bridesmaids-zillas it to make them pay an outrageous amount of money for a dress they can only stand to wear until the second the ceremony is over. Some brides will try to get their bridesmaids to pay a little more by picking a dress they think their girls will wear more than once.

In order to make sure the dress is something the bridesmaid can really wear again, the bride must pick something affordable that leaves the bridesmaids with enough cash to make any necessary alterations. A true bridesmaid won't mind spending money on a dress for her dear friend's wedding, and a true bride will keep the price in a reasonable price range for her supporting ladies.

A good bridesmaid will take what she is given and make it work for her. The fact is that bridesmaids are supposed to be the bride's closest friends and family. Bridesmaids should be supportive, no matter what they find themselves wearing. However, a good bride will take all of these factors into consideration when selecting bridesmaid dresses for her girls. After all the necessary adjustments are made, it is very possible to have a beaming bride as well as a happy and stylish bridesmaid line.
