What Is The Right Exercise For Your Fitness Needs? [article from Articleranks]

What Is The Right Exercise For Your Fitness Needs?

Your best option for type of exercise to do would be something you enjoy doing. There are other things, though, that you want to evaluate, such as the activities you dislike, your budget for gym membership fees and the question of whether to buy equipment or not.

If you choose something that you don't like to do, you aren't going to keep doing it for a long period of time. Think about it - nobody in their right mind would force himself/herself up bright and early to go jogging when they hate such an activity. If no particular activity appeals to you, try something you dislike the least - most people choose to walk when left without a choice.

Walking is great exercise, as it suits all levels of fitness. And the best thing about it is that anyone can get started, and there are many ways to go about a walking program. On top of all this, walking is also a great way to meet new people, or to interact with the person you are walking with. Having a walking partner also helps the time pass by quicker.

No matter what exercise you choose, you should start at a low level of intensity and build it up over a period of weeks, which is essential to the longevity of your exercise program. If your intensity level is too high when you start out, this puts you at serious risk of injury.

If fitness never was on top of your priority list, you'll want to start taking ten-minute walks once a day. Increase the duration by five minutes every two weeks. To make things more interesting, you should try walking a different course every few days. If you have many friends who enjoy walking, you can conveniently rotate them so that you have someone different to walk with for every day of the week.

If walking does not appeal to you, then how about a fitness center instead? They have loads of variety and normally have trainers on hand to answer any questions you may have. The first thing you want to look for in a fitness center is good service.

Membership rarely changes anything when it comes to bad customer service in fitness centers - shoddy treatment is shoddy treatment. You should also make sure that the equipment they use is well taken care of. Just prop your ear next to one of the machines and you'll have an answer to this question. If the machines are noisy or if it looks like some parts are about to fall off, then that certainly means they aren't well taken care of.

If the above tips still did not help, maybe golf and tennis would work for you. These are sports that don't require ridiculous size or athleticism for success, and best of all, allow for social interaction too. Tennis is great for fitness although it isn't for someone who is just starting out. If you haven't exercised in a long time, then golf may be the best activity for you.
